foxley kingham employee assistance programme

A truly modern workplace is one that recognises the importance of good mental health and does all that it can to support employees with their physical and emotional wellbeing. And within the field of Accountancy – this is especially important.

Research carried out by CABA, the registered charity for the wellbeing of Chartered Accountants, found that 55% of Accountants admit to suffering from stress and burnout. Research carried out by AccountsIQ also found that 82% of junior finance professionals believe that their job in the industry has had some form of negative impact on their lives – with the most common complaints being lack of sleep, mental wellbeing, and physical fitness.

Why do we tell you this? Because we’re determined to change the game for professionals in our industry. Keeping people happy, productive, and fulfilled – starting with our own workforce.

Sara Edwards, Group HR Manager at Foxley Kingham said:

“The health and wellbeing of our people is something we view as pivotal to our success as an organisation – we want our employees to thrive.

Introducing our Employee Assistance Programme will offer a deeper level of support, and provide each individual with the tools to help them take care of themselves; and their emotional and mental wellbeing.”

The Employee Assistance Programme is delivered through our partner Care first. Whether you already work with us or would like to work with us in the future – here’s all you need to know.

What is an Employee Assistance Programme?

An Employee Assistance Programme is a resource that exists to look after your emotional and mental wellbeing. If you’re an employee at Foxley Kingham or GKP, this means you have access to free, confidential counselling, 24 hours a day. This counselling is available to help you with any matter, professional or personal, that is affecting your day-to-day wellbeing. For example, you might want to discuss:

  • Managing money
    Relationships
    Moving house
    Family life
Returning to work after a break
    Retirement
    Family crises
    Personal crises
    Bereavement
    Illness & injury

The programme also gives employees access to the Thrive Mental Wellbeing App – a mobile app that’s full to the brim of tools and resources to help you take care of yourself. It has a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy programme, meditation, breathing tools, journalling capabilities, goal setting, and lots more to support you in keeping on top of your mental health. All from the palm of your hand.

Why Care first?

Care first is a market leading counselling and information service, whose expert teams are not only highly trained to counsel and support but are also compassionate and easy to talk to. The way Care first delivers its services means that the support on offer is completely confidential – access is only for the benefit of the individual using it.

We’ve invested in this service because we want our employees to thrive. Yes, work can be stressful, but with the right support in place, we can ensure that at no point work becomes something overwhelming or damaging to the mental health of our people. And that’s something we really care about.
