Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation (FKAF) will launch two charity challenges to help raise much-needed funds for the 2021/22 charity partner The Level Trust. We are looking for local people to take on the challenge of walking 26 miles around Luton, either as individuals or as a relay team on 26 September. Or if supporters want to avoid the blisters, you can sponsor members of the Foxley Kingham team as they lace up their walking boots and hit the trails.
Every donation is greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small. To take part in the walking challenge, complete the form at the bottom of this page.
Early in September, our staff and their families are heading to Lincolnshire for the Le Petit Grand Prix Sportive, where they will test their fitness and endurance in a 53-mile cycle. The route takes place on quiet roads through the Lincolnshire Wolds, an area renowned for its outstanding beauty. The team would welcome sponsorship as they embark on their training plans over the summer.
If you would like to cheer the team on – visit the website to learn more about the route and most importantly inspire them to put in the groundwork by sponsoring them here!
After a successful fundraising year 2019/2020 where, despite two lockdowns and a global pandemic, the FKAF successfully raised over £7000 for four great local causes, the decision was taken that in 2021 that there would be just one benefactor for the foundation and the focus would be on poverty.
The Level Trust helps families from Luton and the surrounding area overcome the cost of education. They have a vision that all children in the Luton area should have the opportunity to love learning and get a good education regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
Tara Aldwin, Director at Foxley Kingham and Trustee of the Anniversary Foundation said:
“With an astounding 45% of children in our local area living in poverty, we decided this year we would choose just one charity partner to receive all our fundraising, to have the biggest impact. The Level Trust do really excellent and commendable work to support families and ensure that children are able to attend school and enjoy their education.
We’d like to welcome the people of Luton to join us for our walking event on the 26th, either to start training now and take part in the walk or sponsor us for this or the cycle event and help us raise funds so that The Level Trust can continue their excellent work.”
Jane Malcolm, Cheif Executive at The Level Trust added:
“We are delighted to have been chosen as the sole recipient of the Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation’s fundraising this year. We’d like to extend our thanks to them for supporting this important cause and wish them lots of luck with their fundraising programme. The work we do has a positive impact on children living in our local communities. Having a positive start in education leaves a legacy that impacts the young person’s life ahead, improving their chances and provided happy memories for them of their time in education. With the help of our supporters we provide free uniforms, free coats and shoes, educational resources, summer school and other support and services for young people and their families.”
The Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation was established after the success of the Charity Challenge, which took place in 2018, to mark the company’s 50th anniversary. Since that time, we have raised £56,123 for 17 local charities and good causes. Note: Since 2018 in total FKAF have raised £63,488 for 21 charity partners.
There are plans for a calendar of fundraising events to take place throughout the rest of the year including a quiz, raffle and a golfing event. More news of future events to follow.
Registrations to the walking challenge are now closed.
