On Sunday 10th June I completed a Tandem Skydive at Hinton Airfield to raise money for the Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation. The money I raised will be split between the chosen charities and my specific chosen charity Friends of Chums.
Completing a Skydive is always something I have wanted to do, even if it does sound crazy, so this was the perfect opportunity. I arrived at Hinton Airfield at midday and had a brief training session before the plane flew us up 13,000 feet in the sky. The initial freefall was the most exhilarating and surreal experience that I have ever encountered. The only way I can describe how it felt when the parachute opened, was like being in a virtual experience.
The view below was so beautiful that it didn’t feel real. This is especially because I was blessed with beautiful weather (which is rare at times!). The day was so rewarding, and I would recommend to anyone to complete one. Even if you have a fear of heights, this would be worth facing your fears for.
I have raised a total of £2,000 for the Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation which will be matched by Foxley Kingham Chartered Accountants resulting in £4,000 raised in total!
I think it is fantastic what Foxley Kingham are doing to raise money for charities which are based in or benefit Bedfordshire. Part of the money I have raised will go to Friends of Chums which I have volunteered for in the past. This is a great charity along with the others FK are supporting.
Please look out for our other fundraising efforts and events on our website. It would be great to see some of you there!
