The news that the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) extension is welcomed by those who face the ever-growing pressure of a second lockdown and a year of turmoil for business.
The chancellor announced on 5th November a five-month extension of the furlough scheme
The Government are providing additional funding to allow local authorities to support businesses in Tier 2 areas which are not legally closed, but which are severely impacted by the restrictions on socialising.
The UK government are extending this support to ensure the livelihoods and jobs in the UK. In recognition of the challenging times ahead, the Chancellor said he would be increasing support through the existing Job Support and self-employed schemes.
The Government and employers will carry on topping up workers’ wages when the furlough scheme winds down at the end of the month.
